The Button Front Dress

Hello everyone!

With summer seemingly here to stay with highs in the 90s, I’ve found myself ditching my go-to denim in favor of this season’s super popular button down dress!

The bit of detail from the buttons seem to make the dresses feel just a bit more polished and special.

Here’s a round up of a few of my current favorites. Which one do you like best? Drop a link to others that you love in the comments!

This one from Derek Lam is a favorite  with a super flattering neck line, tie waist, and asymmetrical ruffle hem!

I sadly shelved dresses for almost a year because nursing an infant/pumping isn’t exactly easy in most dresses…

Now that my youngest is a year old (WOW! That was fast!) and not nursing much, I’ve been rekindling my love for dresses.

Workwear Edit Vol. 1

Happy Wednesday everyone!

As it nears time for me to return to my full time day job after baby #2, I have been adding some more workwear items to my wardrobe.

I don’t know about you, but adding a new activity specific outfit helps me feel excited about said activity.

For example – when I need a little workout motivation, I pick up some fun leggings or a new sports bra. Maybe it’s the residual effect of first day of school shopping?

I decided to start featuring more of my favorite business professional/business casual outfits for all my boss babes out there!

I hope you enjoy – let me know what other types of looks you would like to see featured… maybe Casual Fridays?

This outfit is a go-to office look for me: non-distressed jeans, silk top, & blazer.

Thanks for reading & I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

Lipstick Print and a Scalloped Hem

Happy Sunday!

A year or two ago when YSL came out with a whole line of lipstick print items, I found myself seriously considering a beautiful button up blouse and pumps.

I ended up limiting myself to the wallet (which remains one of my favorites to this day) but have kept my eye out for a nice lipstick print blouse since then.

When I saw this top at Banana Republic recently, I knew it was coming home! I love the mixed print featuring delicate lipsticks over light blue pinstripes.

What prints or patterns are you most drawn to? I’d love if you would share some of your favorites with me in the comments!

This cute sheath dress from Tobi has lovely feminine detailing with the scalloped hem, but the V-neck was a bit too deep for me.

Sadly, I am not one of those fortunate souls who can go braless with necklines like this.

I even tried taping the girls up with Gaffer’s tape à la Kim Kardashian (google it! haha), but since I am still nursing that was a less than desirable solution!

Layering this top underneath made for a practical solution and instantly adorable pairing.

Trending | Corset Front & Holes

Hi everyone!

Today we are talking about trending details – the corset front top the distressed/hole-y top.

I personally like the distressing when kept somewhat edited.

I don’t really find myself reaching for shirts covered in LOTS of holes but I do think when placed tactfully they lend a bit of edge to an outfit that I enjoy.

This super cute and comfy T-shirt dress from Tobi
is a great way to sport both trends at an affordable price… and this one in particular is SO soft!

Added Bonus: The lace up detail on front is also conveniently placed for disguising my postpartum belly that’s still working its way back in place while adding definition to the waist =)  That’s a huge plus in my book!

Tweed, Lace, and a Little Sparkle

Hi everyone & thanks for stopping by!

This was the perfect fall outfit while still being comfortable for the warm(ish) 75 degree day we had. I got to break out the tweed but stayed light with lace trim and insets.

I felt very work appropriate for a semi-casual environment or a nice meal out.

I was channeling a little “modern Chanel” with this awesome tweed and lace top from Zara and these classic pumps updated with a metallic neutral.
